The Automated Weather Data Network (AWDN) represents a longstanding partnership among states in and around the High Plains
Region with the purpose of gathering observational data and providing this information to stakeholders in agriculture and
related fields. The AWDN provides valuable observation data, serving clients around the world.
AWDN Access Tool
This tool can be used to create Web Service calls. There are three types of data calls that can be used:
Hourly and Daily calls get Serial Complete Quality Controlled from the AWDN dataset
Calculated products use hourly and/or daily data to generate products such as Heat Index
Gridded Data is available for a limited amount of products
Climate products and tools are developed by the High Plains Regional Climate Center (HPRCC) and its partner Regional Climate Centers to provide users with a means to routinely access recent weather and climate data. While applied research has demonstrated that the use of such data in decision making can reduce risk and lower a user's cost, near-real-time data are preliminary in nature and sometimes contain errors. Although care is taken to remove known errors, it is possible that some data will change after receipt of written records and final quality control steps. Users are therefore warned to consider any negative impact that errant data might have on their business and use preliminary data and information at their own risk.
The user assumes the entire risk related to the use of information on HPRCC webpages. HPRCC provides such information "as is,", and in no event will HPRCC be liable to a user or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages or lost profit resulting from any use or misuse of information provided through HPRCC.
