On October 19th, the High Plains Regional Climate Center (HPRCC) hosted visitors from the National Weather Service who came to learn more about the research, products, and services that HPRCC has to offer.
During this day long workshop, HPRCC staff highlighted:
- Research
- Automated Weather Data Network (AWDN)
- Applied Climate Information System (ACIS)
- Classic Online System
- CLIMOD
- Climate Summary Maps
- Monthly Climate Summaries
The visitors also got to tour an AWDN station in Lincoln, NE to see how a typical station is configured and to learn how HPRCC collects the data. Most importantly, the two groups were able to share ideas about developing new climate products and climate change education.
