Temperature

Temperatures were above normal for the majority of the region. The highest temperatures were 6°F to 9°F above normal in a small part of eastern Colorado, and northern and eastern Wyoming, with a small area in Colorado reaching 9°F to 12°F above normal. The lowest temperatures reached greater than 15°F below normal in southeastern Wyoming.

Temperatures in scattered parts of central and northern Wyoming reached 5°F to 10°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 81°F in Wichita, Kansas, which is 1°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures reached greater than 25°F below normal in southeastern Wyoming.

Temperatures in southeastern Wyoming reached 3°F to 6°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 41°F in Alamosa, Colorado, which is 7°F above normal for the area. The highest temperatures reached 12°F to 15°F above normal in parts of central and the panhandle of Nebraska, and central South Dakota.

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from less than 2 percent of normal in northern Colorado, across central Wyoming, northwestern Nebraska, scattered parts of western and northern South Dakota, and southern and northwestern North Dakota, to more than 800 percent of normal in southcentral Nebraska, northcentral and western Kansas, and southeastern Colorado. Burr Oak, Kansas received 6.25 inches of precipitation with most of it falling on the 24th and 26th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions decreased from 92 percent to 88 percent. In the region, Kansas experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 14 percent.
