Temperature

Temperatures were above normal for the majority of the region. The highest temperatures reached 15°F to 20°F above normal in small, scattered areas in eastern Kansas. The lowest temperatures reached 15°F to 20°F below normal in southeastern Wyoming.

Temperatures in central and eastern Kansas reached 10°F to 15°F above normal, with a couple of areas reaching 15°F to 20°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 95°F in Wichita, Kansas, which is 12°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were greater than 25°F below normal in southeastern Wyoming.

Temperatures in eastern North Dakota reached 6°F to 9°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 43°F in Alamosa, Colorado, which is 6°F above normal for the area. The highest temperatures reached greater than 15°F above normal in scattered parts of eastern Kansas.

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region. Southwestern North Dakota, central Nebraska, scattered parts of northwestern and southeastern Kansas, and scattered parts of eastern Colorado received less than 2 percent of normal precipitation. Northeastern Colorado and a tiny area in northeastern Wyoming received more than 800 percent of normal precipitation. Falls City, Nebraska received 5.68 inches of precipitation with most of it falling on the 14th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions remained the same as the previous week. In the region, Nebraska experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 1 percent while the rest of the states experienced no changes in D0 conditions.
