Temperature

Temperatures were above normal in almost all states. The highest temperatures reached 15°F to 20°F above normal in northcentral Kansas. The lowest temperatures reached 20°F to 25°F below normal in southeastern Wyoming.  

Temperatures in central and eastern Kansas, and a small part of southeastern South Dakota reached 15°F to 20°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 102°F in Wichita, Kansas, which is 15°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were greater than 25°F below normal in southeastern Wyoming.  

Temperatures in southeastern Wyoming reached 9°F to 12°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 46°F in Alamosa, Colorado, which is 4°F above normal for the area. The highest temperatures were greater than 15°F above normal in central and northcentral Kansas, and southcentral Nebraska. 

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from less than 2 percent of normal in the majority of Kansas, southern and northwestern Nebraska, across central and eastern Colorado, the majority of Wyoming, northern and western South Dakota, and central and southern North Dakota, to 400-800 percent of normal in northern North Dakota, northcentral and southern South Dakota, northeastern and western Nebraska, and southeastern Colorado. Flandreau, South Dakota received 4.22 inches of precipitation with most of it falling on the 7^th. 

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions remained the same as the previous week. In the region, South Dakota experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 4 percent while Colorado experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 2 percent.
