Temperature

Temperatures were above normal for almost the entirety of the region, with the highest temperatures reaching 8°F to 10°F above normal in southwestern South Dakota and northwestern and eastern Wyoming. The lowest temperatures reached 4°F to 6°F below normal in eastern North Dakota, with a small area reaching 6°F to 8°F below normal.

Temperatures in southwestern South Dakota and eastern Wyoming reached greater than 10°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 98°F in Dodge City, Kansas, which is 9°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures reached 2°F to 4°F below normal in northeastern Kansas, a small part of southeastern Nebraska, and eastern North Dakota.

Temperatures in eastern North Dakota, southeastern Nebraska, and northeastern Kansas reached 6°F to 9°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 43°F in Alamosa, Colorado, which is normal for the area. The highest temperatures reached 9°F to 12°F above normal in western Wyoming.

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from less than 2 percent of normal across central and northern Kansas, scattered parts of southern and eastern Colorado, scattered areas in northcentral and eastern Wyoming, central and western South Dakota, and eastern and western North Dakota, to more than 800 percent of normal in western Nebraska, a small part of northwestern South Dakota, and southwestern North Dakota. Medora, North Dakota received 4.4 inches of precipitation with most of it falling on the 24th

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions remained the same as the previous week. In the region, Kansas experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 3 percent while Nebraska experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 4 percent.
