Temperature

The highest temperatures were 9°F to 12°F above normal in western Wyoming and northeastern North Dakota. The lowest temperatures were greater than 15°F below normal in northeastern Colorado.

The lowest temperatures were in central and western Kansas and northeastern Colorado, reaching 10°F to 20°F below normal. Temperatures in northwestern Wyoming reached 15°F to 20°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 90°F at Grand Junction, Colorado, which is 7°F above normal for the area.

The highest temperatures were in eastern Colorado, southwestern Wyoming, and northeastern North Dakota, reaching 6°F to 9°F above normal. Temperatures in central Kansas and northeastern Colorado reached temperatures greater than 15°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 40°F at Alamosa, Colorado, which is 3°F above normal for the area.

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in eastern and northwestern North Dakota, scattered parts of central South Dakota, northwestern Wyoming, western Colorado, and the northwestern corner of the Nebraskan panhandle to 200 percent of normal in southeastern Wyoming, across central and southeastern Colorado and southwestern Kansas. Hutchinson, Kansas received 4.43 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 27th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions improved from 80 percent to 75 percent. In the region, Colorado experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 13 percent.

Severe Storms

Colorado and Nebraska received hail 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. South Dakota and Kansas received hail 1 to 1.75 inches and 1 to 2 inches in diameter, respectively.
