Temperature

Temperatures were above normal for most of the southern portions of the region while the northern portion experienced below normal temperatures. The highest temperatures in northwestern Wyoming and across central Kansas reached 8°F to 10°F above normal with a spot in Wyoming reaching temperatures greater than 10°F above normal.  The lowest temperature was in eastern North Dakota reaching 2°F to 4°F below normal.  

Northcentral Colorado reached temperatures greater than 10°F above normal. The highest temperature was 79°F at Medicine Lodge, Kansas which is 7°F above normal for the area. Temperatures in northcentral Nebraska and northcentral Wyoming reached 4°F to 6°F below normal.  

Southwestern Colorado and eastern North Dakota reached temperatures 2°F to 4°F below normal. The lowest temperature was 24°F at Leadville, Colorado which is 3°F above normal for the area. Temperatures across central Kansas and northwestern Wyoming reached 8°F to 10°F above normal with some areas reaching temperatures greater than 10°F above normal. 

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in central and western Colorado, southwestern Wyoming, and across central North Dakota to 800 percent of normal in northwestern South Dakota. Natoma, Kansas received 5.45 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 25^th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions decreased from 81 percent to 79 percent. In the region, North Dakota experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 1 percent while Wyoming experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 5 percent.
