Temperature

Temperatures were below normal for the majority of the region. The coldest temperatures were in western and southcentral North Dakota, northwestern and northcentral South Dakota, and northwestern Wyoming reached temperatures greater than 25°F below normal. Temperatures in southcentral Colorado reached 0°F to 5°F above normal.

The warmest temperatures were 0°F to 5°F above normal in southcentral Colorado. The hottest temperature was 46°F at Trinidad, Colorado which is 4°F below normal for the area. Temperatures in western and northcentral North Dakota, northwestern South Dakota, and northern Wyoming reached temperatures greater than 25°F below normal.

The coldest temperatures were in western and southcentral North Dakota, northwestern and northcentral South Dakota, and northern Wyoming reaching temperatures greater than 25°F below normal. The coldest temperature was -24°F at Pollock, South Dakota which is 31°F below normal for the area. Temperatures in southcentral Colorado reached 5°F to 10°F above normal.

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in eastern and southwestern North Dakota, northeastern and scattered parts of western South Dakota, central and northeastern Wyoming, the panhandle of Nebraska, and southwestern Kansas to 800 percent of normal in northwestern Wyoming, southwestern Colorado, and northeastern Nebraska. Crested Butte, Colorado received 2.48 inches of precipitation, well above their normal 0.09 inches; most of it fell on the 14th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 78 percent to 79 percent. In the region, Kansas experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 3 percent.
