Temperature

Temperatures varied in the region. The highest temperatures were in scattered parts of central and western Colorado and southwestern Wyoming, reaching 20°F to 25°F above normal. Temperatures in western North Dakota, northwestern South Dakota, and northcentral Wyoming reached 15°F to 20°F below normal with some spots in Wyoming reaching 20°F to 26°F below normal.

The highest temperatures were in southcentral and northwestern Colorado reaching 20°F to 25°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 64°F in Trinidad, Colorado which is 14°F above normal for the area. Temperatures in northcentral Wyoming reached 26°F below normal.

The lowest temperatures were in northcentral Wyoming reaching 20°F to 25°F below normal. The coldest temperature was -10°F in Williston, North Dakota which is 13°F below normal for the area. Temperatures in southwestern Wyoming, and scattered parts of central and western Colorado reached temperatures 20°F to 25°F above normal, with a spot in southwestern Wyoming reaching more than 25°F above normal.

Precipitation

Precipitation values varied this week, ranging from 2 percent of normal in southern Colorado, western and northern Kansas, eastern, southern, and the Panhandle of Nebraska, central South Dakota, and central and southeastern Wyoming to 800 percent of normal in northwestern Wyoming. Moose, Wyoming received 2.2 inches of precipitation, almost all of it fell on the 3rd.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 77 percent to 78 percent. In the region, Colorado experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 6 percent.
