Temperature 

This week featured above normal temperatures for the eastern portion of the region and below normal temperatures for the western portion of the region. The warmest regions were northern and eastern North Dakota, eastern South Dakota, and eastern Nebraska reaching temperatures 6°F to 9°F above normal with some parts of North Dakota reaching 9°F to 12°F above normal. The coldest region was most of Colorado reaching temperatures 9°F to 12°F below normal with some areas reaching 12°F to 15°F below normal. 

This week featured above normal temperatures for the eastern portion of the region and below normal temperatures for the western portion of the region. The warmest region was the majority of North Dakota reaching temperatures 5°F to 10°F above normal with some areas reaching 10°F to 15°F above normal. The warmest temperature was 62°F in Topeka, Kansas which is 3°F above normal for the area. The coldest region was scattered spots in southern Wyoming and most of Colorado reaches temperatures 10°F to 15°F below normal with southern Colorado reaching temperatures 15°F to 25°F below normal. 

The warmest region was western North Dakota, central and eastern Nebraska, and central and eastern Kansas reaching temperatures 9°F to 12°F above normal with some spots reaching 12°F to 15°F above normal. The coldest region was western Wyoming and northwestern Colorado reaching temperatures 9°F to 12°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 14°F in Meeker, Colorado which is 8°F below normal for the area and Craig, Colorado which was 7°F below normal for the area. 

Precipitation 

Precipitation amounts varied in the region from 800 percent of normal in western Kansas, eastern Colorado, and southwestern Nebraska to 2 percent of normal in central and southwestern Wyoming, northwestern North Dakota, and northwestern South Dakota. Fredonia, Kansas received 6.71 inches of precipitation, which is well above the 0.09 inch normal; most of this fell on the 4^th. 

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions slightly decreased from 89 percent to 88 percent. In the region, Colorado experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 2 percent.
