Temperature 

This week featured above normal temperatures for a majority of the region. The warmest region was the northwestern corner of Wyoming with temperatures of 9°F to 16°F above normal. The coldest region was northern North Dakota with temperatures of 6°F to 9°F below normal.

Maximum temperatures varied across the region. Northwestern Wyoming, southwestern South Dakota, and northeastern Colorado reached temperatures 9°F to 15°F above normal. The warmest temperature was 98°F in Pueblo, Colorado which is 6°F above normal for the area. Temperatures in northern North Dakota reached 6°F to 9°F below normal.

Minimum temperatures were 9°F to 15°F above normal in the northwestern and southeastern corners of Wyoming. The coldest temperature was 39°F in Fraser, Colorado which is 4°F above normal for the area. Temperatures in North Dakota reached 5°F to 9°F below normal.

Precipitation 

Precipitation amounts varied this week, ranging from 2 percent in most of Wyoming, western Nebraska, eastern Colorado, and central Kansas to 800 percent in western Wyoming. Kingman, Kansas received 5.54 inches of precipitation, well above their normal of 0.14 inches; most of this fell on the 30th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) across the region was up from 35 percent to 43 percent. In the region, Nebraska experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 1 percent while Wyoming experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 35 percent.

Severe Storms 

Colorado received hail with a diameter of 1 inch. Wyoming and North Dakota received hail with diameters between 1 to 1.5 inches and 1 to 1.75 inches respectively. Kansas and South Dakota received hail with diameters between 1 to 2.75 inches and 1 to 3 inches respectively. Nebraska received hail 1 to 4 inches in diameter.
