Temperature

Temperatures were above normal across the region, with the highest temperatures being 15°F to 20°F above normal in southern Wyoming, and central and western Colorado. The lowest temperatures were 0°F to 5°F below normal in northern North Dakota.

Temperatures in southern Wyoming and western Colorado reached 20°F to 25°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 81°F in Grand Junction, Colorado, which is 19°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were 0°F to 5°F below normal in northern North Dakota and southeastern Wyoming.

Temperatures in southwestern Nebraska reached 6°F to 9°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 21°F in Williston, North Dakota, which is 1°F below normal for the area. The highest temperatures were greater than 15°F above normal in southeastern Wyoming and across central and western Colorado.

Precipitation

The region received little precipitation throughout the week. The majority of Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota along with southcentral and eastern North Dakota received less than 5 percent of normal precipitation while a small part of southcentral Nebraska and northcentral Kansas received more than 300 percent of normal precipitation. The Harlan County Lake in Nebraska received 3 inches of precipitation with all of it falling on the 29th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 70 percent to 74 percent. In the region, Kansas experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 16 percent while North and South Dakota experienced no change in D0 conditions.
