Temperature

Temperatures were above normal for the majority of the region, with the highest temperatures being greater than 15°F above normal in northwestern Wyoming. Temperatures in eastern North Dakota reached 3°F to 6°F below normal.

Temperatures in western North Dakota, northwestern Wyoming, southwestern Kansas, and scattered parts of southeastern Colorado reached 9°F to 12°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 101°F in Pueblo, Colorado, which is 8°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures reached 3°F to 6°F below normal in eastern North Dakota, southeastern Nebraska, and northeastern Kansas.

Temperatures in eastern North Dakota reached 5°F to 10°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 52°F in Alamosa, Colorado, which is 4°F above normal for the area. The highest temperatures were 20°F to 25°F above normal in northwestern Wyoming.

Precipitation

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from less than 2 percent of normal in central Kansas, scattered parts of eastern and northwestern Colorado, small parts of western Nebraska, scattered parts of northcentral Wyoming, along northern South Dakota, and most of North Dakota, to 400-800 percent of normal in southcentral Wyoming. Barnard, Kansas received 5.33 inches of precipitation with most of it falling on the 24th.

Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 78 to 80 percent. In the region, North Dakota experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 10 percent while Colorado and Wyoming experienced no changes in D0 conditions.
