Dry Week
The spatial pattern of dry and wet soils across the state changed very little over the past week. Eastern and north central Nebraska are sufficiently moist and south central and western Nebraska are quite dry. However, with no precipitation across the state and windy/mild conditions, soils are drier across the board than at this time last week. The good news is that precipitation is likely later this week statewide, with amounts over an inch possible over south central and southwestern Nebraska. If that comes to fruition, it won't end the soil moisture deficits in those regions, but it could put a nice dent in it.
