Update on Drought Conditions in the High Plains Region - January 15, 2015

The past week was dry for the most part across the High Plains region. The region essentially separated the warmer West from the colder East. With the exception of southwestern Wyoming and western Colorado, the region experienced below normal temperatures last week. Due to dry conditions and the time of year, minimal drought impacts occur and as a result, the region was status quo regarding the U.S. Drought Monitor.

The coming week appears to be warmer and also dry across much of the region, which lessens the chance of changes in next week's depiction of the Drought Monitor.
