Update on Drought Conditions in the High Plains Region - December 11, 2014

With the exception of eastern Kansas, it was a rather dry week across the High Plains region. The entire region was warmer than normal, with parts of central Wyoming as much as 15°F above normal! Given the meteorological conditions in the past week, as well as drought impacts being minimal this time of year, the entire region was left as status quo regarding the U.S. Drought Monitor this week.

In the next week, above normal temperatures are expected to continue, and the best chance of precipitation is expected to be across Kansas where approximately 0.5-2.0 inches of precipitation could fall. Stay tuned for an update on drought conditions across the region next week!
