Please join us for the next Midwest and Great Plains Drought and Climate Update. The Webinar will be held Thursday, September 19th at 1pm CDT. The duration may be up to an hour.
The presentation will continue the discussion of the current and recently expanding drought as well as other climate impacts across the area. Outlooks for drought, precipitation and temperatures over the coming months will be included as well as the latest on El Nino/La Nina. Recent lack of rainfall and much above normal temperatures have impacted crops and ecosystems in the region. This will have implications for agriculture and other sectors in the region. Stuart Foster (Kentucky State Climatologist) will provide the climate briefing. He will be followed up by Brad Rippey from the Joint Agricultural Weather Facility (USDA/NOAA) will provide a brief overview of crop conditions as the growing season begins to wind down. After these presentations we will take questions.
