2010 was a record setting year for many locations in the High Plains Region.  Some places such as Sioux Falls, South Dakota had already beaten their annual precipitation records by October!  At the end of the year, the total annual precipitation for 2010 for Sioux Falls was 38.62 inches.  The old record was set in 1993 with 36.11 inches (period of record 1893-2010).
