On August 9, 2010 HPRCC director Dr. Martha Shulski and regional climatologist Natalie Umphlett conducted a climate services training day for tribal college faculty.  The training was conducted at the Center Green Campus of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO.  Tribal college faculty who participated in the training were from Sisseton Wahpeton College, United Tribes Technical College, and Fort Berthold Community College.  Participants learned about the HPRCC, the services that we provide, and also how to access climate data through our online resources.  While each participant's research interests varied, everyone benefitted from the experience.

Some comments from the participants include:

"I think I will be able to use the data in my GIS courses as well as in my research course."

"Because of the size of the class a lot of questions of concern to each participant were allowed so many questions were answered.  This was an important part of the workshop."
