This winter has been cold and snowy which has caused many travel worries, school closings, and road closures. This leads many people to ask questions such as, just how snowy has it been and which locations may make the top 10 for seasonal snowfall?
It was a snowy weekend for much of the Region and the High Plains Regional Climate Center has updated the season-to-date snowfall statistics (see table below). Now, Norfolk, NE and Lincoln, NE join North Platte, NE in the top 10 snowiest seasons on record. With 50.0 inches (127.00 cm) of snowfall, Norfolk, NE is now ranked the 10th snowiest on record. North Platte, NE has moved up in the rankings from #7 to #6. In addition, the chances of other locations making it in to the top 10 has increased.
