A major winter storm will bring rain, wintry mix, ice accumulations, heavy snow, and possibly blizzard conditions to the Region this week. Holiday travel and plans will be affected this week and so for comparison, the High Plains Regional Climate Center has compiled a list of normal temperatures and precipitation extremes (including snowfall) for selected locations across the Region for Christmas Day. Will this be a record snowfall? (All data derived using products built on the ACIS framework.)
Forecasts indicate that many locations across the Region will see a White Christmas. On a year-to-year basis, what are the chances? Check out the map to the right to see the probability of a White Christmas in your area.
