Temperature 

This week featured above normal temperatures for almost the entire region. The warmest regions were parts of eastern and southern Wyoming and central and western Colorado reaching temperatures 9°F to 12°F above normal with a spot in western Colorado reaching 12°F to 15°F above normal. The coldest region was northcentral Nebraska reaching temperatures 0°F to 3°F below normal. 

This week featured above normal temperatures for a majority of the region. The warmest regions were central Kansas, western and northcentral Colorado, in the corners of Wyoming, and southeastern Nebraska reaching 12°F to 16°F above normal. The warmest temperature was 90°F in Medicine Lodge, Kansas which is 13°F above normal for the area. The coolest temperatures were in most of North Dakota, most of South Dakota, and parts of western Nebraska reached 4°F to 8°F above normal. 

Temperatures in northcentral Nebraska reached temperatures 6°F to 9°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 28°F in Moran, Wyoming which is 1°F below normal for the area. Western Colorado and the southwest corner of Wyoming reached temperatures 9°F to 12°F above normal. 

Precipitation 

The region received 25% of normal precipitation. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 71% to 79%. In the region, North Dakota experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 29% while South Dakota experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 17%. 

Wildfire 

In North Dakota, wildfires broke out late Friday and Saturday. Around 40 fires started in the state and spread further due to 75 mph winds and dry conditions, and thousands of acres have burned so far.
