Temperature
Temperatures were above normal in almost the entire region. The highest temperatures were 8°F to 10°F above normal in central Nebraska, southwestern Wyoming, and western Colorado. The lowest temperatures were 2°F to 4°F below normal in southcentral Kansas and northcentral North Dakota.
Temperatures in southwestern South Dakota and northwestern Wyoming reached temperatures greater than 10°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 97°F at Grand Junction, Colorado, which is 7°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperature was in central North Dakota reaching 4°F to 6°F below normal.
Temperatures in southcentral Kansas, southeastern Colorado, and western North Dakota reached 2°F to 4°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 48°F at Alamosa, Colorado, which is 2°F above normal for the area. The highest temperatures were 8°F to 10°F above normal in central Nebraska, east-central Wyoming, and western Colorado.



Precipitation
Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal across southern and northeastern Kansas, across central Nebraska, western and northern South Dakota, central and northwestern North Dakota, across central Wyoming and in eastern and southern Colorado, to 400 percent of normal in southwestern and east-central Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, southwestern North Dakota, and eastern Colorado. Howard, South Dakota received 4.59 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 22nd. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions decreased from 47 percent to 45 percent. In the region, North Dakota experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 33 percent and Colorado experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 7 percent.


Severe Storms
Kansas received hail 1 to 1.25 inches in diameter. Colorado, Nebraska, and North Dakota received hail 1 to 1.75 inches in diameter. South Dakota received hail 1 to 3.25 inches in diameter.
