Temperature
Temperatures varied in the region. The highest temperatures were in western Colorado and south central Kansas reaching 6°F to 8°F above normal. The lowest temperatures were 4°F to 6°F below normal in northwestern Colorado, northern Wyoming, and eastern North Dakota, with a small area in North Dakota reaching temperatures 6°F to 8°F below normal.
Temperatures in western and southcentral Kansas, southern and across central Colorado reached 6°F to 8°F above normal with some areas in Colorado reaching temperatures 8°F to 10°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 97°F at Grand Junction, Colorado, which is 4°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were 6°F to 8°F below normal in southwestern, northcentral, and eastern North Dakota, with a small area in eastern North Dakota reaching temperatures more than 10°F below normal.
Temperatures in southcentral Wyoming, and northwestern and southcentral Colorado reached 6°F to 10°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 44°F at Alamosa, Colorado, which is 4°F below normal for the area. The highest temperatures were 6°F to 8°F above normal in western Colorado, southcentral Kansas, and northeastern North Dakota.



Precipitation
Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in the majority of Wyoming and Colorado, southern Kansas, northern Nebraska, across central South Dakota to 800 percent of normal in northwestern North Dakota. Clay Center, Nebraska received 4.73 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 10th. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions decreased from 49 percent to 47 percent. In the region, Nebraska experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 8 percent and Kansas experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 1 percent.


Severe Storms
Wyoming received hail 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Nebraska and North Dakota received hail 1 to 1.75 inches in diameter. South Dakota received hail 1 to 2.75 inches in diameter. Colorado and Kansas received hail 1 to 4 inches in diameter.
