Temperature
Temperatures varied in the region. The highest temperatures were 6°F to 8°F above normal in northcentral Nebraska and northwestern Wyoming. The lowest temperatures were in central Wyoming central Colorado, and eastern North Dakota reaching 4°F to 6°F below normal with some areas reaching 6°F to 8°F below normal.
Temperatures were above normal for most of the eastern portion of the region. The lowest temperature was in southcentral Colorado reaching 6°F to 9°F below normal. Northcentral Nebraska and southcentral South Dakota reached temperatures greater than 15°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 76°F at Medicine Lodge, Kansas which is 5°F above normal for the area.
The highest temperature was 6°F to 8°F above normal in southcentral Colorado and northwestern Wyoming. Across central and eastern Wyoming and southwestern South Dakota temperatures reached 8°F to 10°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 24°F at Casper, Wyoming which is 5°F below normal for the area.



Precipitation
Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in western Kansas, eastern Colorado, across central Nebraska, northwestern Wyoming, northwestern South Dakota, and northern North Dakota to 400 percent of normal in western Wyoming and eastern Kansas. Altamont, Kansas received 5.7 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 20th. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 80 percent to 81 percent. In the region, Colorado experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 4 percent.
