Temperature
Temperatures were below normal for the majority of the region. The lowest temperatures were greater than -10°F below normal in scattered parts of central and western Colorado. The highest temperatures were 0°F to 2°F above normal in northwestern Wyoming.
Temperatures in northwestern Wyoming reached 0°F to 3°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 65°F at Medicine Lodge, Kansas which is 2°F below normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were in scattered parts of Colorado reaching 12°F to 15°F below normal.
Temperatures in scattered parts of central Colorado and northwestern Wyoming reached 9°F to 12°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 7°F at Leadville, Colorado which is 10°F below normal for the area. The highest temperatures were in eastern Kansas reaching 3°F to 6°F above normal.



Precipitation
Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in southwestern Kansas, southeastern Colorado, and scattered parts of northern and western Wyoming to 400 percent of normal in southeastern North Dakota. Wakefield, Kansas received 5.91 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 2nd. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions decreased from 83 percent to 82 percent. In the region, Kansas experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 1 percent while Colorado experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 7 percent.
