Temperature 

Temperatures varied in the region as the eastern portion of the region experienced above normal temperatures while the western portion experienced below normal temperatures. The highest temperatures were 9°F to 15°F above normal in northwestern North Dakota. The lowest temperatures were 6°F to 12°F below normal in northwestern Wyoming.  

Temperatures in western North Dakota, southeastern South Dakota, and scattered parts of central Nebraska and Kansas reached 9°F to 12°F above normal with some areas in North Dakota and South Dakota reaching 12°F to 15°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 73°F at Medicine Lodge, Kansas which is 10°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were in northwestern Wyoming and scattered parts of Colorado reaching 6°F to 9°F below normal with an area in Wyoming reaching 9°F to 12°F below normal.  

Temperatures in northwestern Wyoming reached 10°F to 15°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 14°F at Grand Forks, North Dakota which is 4°F below normal for the area. The highest temperatures were in northwestern North Dakota reaching 10°F to 15°F above normal. 

Precipitation 

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 2 percent of normal in southcentral Kansas, southcentral and northeastern Colorado, scattered across central Wyoming, northcentral Nebraska, central and eastern South Dakota, and southcentral North Dakota to 400 percent of normal in northwestern Wyoming and a part of eastern Nebraska. Mead, Nebraska received 2.36 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 20th. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 81 percent to 82 percent. In the region, Colorado and Kansas experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 3 percent.
