Temperature 

This week featured above normal temperatures for a majority of the region. The warmest regions were northern South Dakota, scattered regions in Nebraska and Kansas, and central and eastern North Dakota reaching temperatures 9°F to 12°F above normal with northeastern North Dakota reaching 12°F to 15°F above normal. Temperatures in eastern and southern Colorado reached 6°F to 9°F below normal with some areas reaching 9°F to 12°F below normal. 

The warmest regions were most of North Dakota, central and eastern South Dakota, northern Nebraska, and scattered spots around Kansas reaching temperatures 9°F to 12°F above normal with some areas reaching 12°F to 15°F above normal. The warmest temperature was 69°F in Medicine Lodge, Kansas which is 10°F above normal for the area. Temperatures in eastern and southern Colorado reached temperatures 6°F to 15°F below normal. 

The warmest regions were northeastern North Dakota and northeastern South Dakota reaching temperatures 10°F to 15°F above normal. Temperatures in southern Colorado reached 5°F to 10°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 4°F in Topeka, Kansas which is 7°F below normal for the area. 

Precipitation 

Precipitation amounts varied in the region from 800 percent in northwestern North Dakota to 2 percent in southern North Dakota, central and western South Dakota, eastern Wyoming, the panhandle of Nebraska, western Kansas, and most of Colorado. Fredonia, Kansas received 2.3 inches of precipitation, which is well above the 0.08 inch normal; most of this fell on the 12^th. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions decreased from 89% to 80%. In the region, Nebraska experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 27 percent. Colorado has a strong start to snowpack as of November 17^th as several basins are well above the median. However, Wyoming is off to a weak start to snowpack as several basins are below the median.
